Kathleen Rainey holding her flute

Hi, I’m Kathleen Rainey.

I have over 20 years of experience training people of all ages how to go from a beginner flute player to playing their first song.

My Story as an Educator

Music education has been at the heart of my career for nearly two decades.

I completed my Bachelor of Music in 2006 and graduated from Queen’s Faculty of Education in 2007. Since then, I have taught in both private and public education across Ontario, Alberta, and Ecuador, taking on leadership roles throughout my career.

Alongside my classroom teaching, I have always continued teaching flute privately—because working one-on-one with students and helping them discover their musical voice has remained one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

During my year at Queen’s Faculty of Education, I specialized in Artist in Community Education, an experience that shaped my belief in the power of the arts to connect, inspire, and transform communities.

Today, I’m bringing that experience into RaineyK Flute Studio.

I believe that every student deserves the opportunity to experience the joy and lifelong benefits of music education, regardless of their age, background, or previous experience.

That belief is at the heart of why I started this studio—and why I’m so passionate about helping each student discover what is possible when they find their own voice through music.

Music education has the power to transform lives. I’ve seen it firsthand, and I’m excited to share that journey with my students.
